Suno faces suits over alleged voice cloning and music rights
According to AI Weekly, relaying reporting by Variety, Elvis Presley rights holders and publisher Eight Mile Style have brought separate actions against Suno.

According to AI Weekly, relaying reporting by Variety, Authentic Brands Group, Raleigh Music Publishing and other Elvis Presley rights holders have sued Suno in the federal court for the Northern District of California. The action reportedly invokes Tennessee’s ELVIS Act, a 2024 law protecting voice and personal identity. The claimants accuse the service of allowing users to generate tracks with a voice allegedly imitating Presley’s without permission. This claim therefore concerns AI voice imitation and personality rights.
AI Weekly also reports a separate copyright action brought by Eight Mile Style, a publisher said to control approximately 269 Eminem compositions. The rights identified concern musical compositions. The publisher reportedly seeks USD 150,000 per composition; the account puts the total at approximately USD 41 million. This is a damages demand, with no indication of any amount awarded by a court.
AI Weekly also recounts Suno’s response: the company says it supports the creation of original music, prohibits unauthorized uses of artists’ works and considers requests for a song in an artist’s style lawful. These remain the parties’ positions, while the applicability of the ELVIS Act to the alleged conduct remains an open question. Without direct examination of the court filings and statutory text, the details of the claims and defenses remain attributed to the news account.
