From film to publishing: copyright law

From the analysis of works and the chain of title to contract negotiation: acquisition, licensing and exploitation of rights in domestic and international contexts.

Film and audiovisual works
Production, co-production and distribution agreements, with verification of the availability of rights and the consistency of the agreements accompanying the work.
Publishing, music, fashion and photography
Relationships with authors and rights holders, permissions and licences. The subject of the use, term, territory and exploitation arrangements are reconstructed from the actual documentation.
Software and digital content
Licences and use agreements, including the relationships between components, content and the rights involved. Software development work combines a technical understanding of the product with the reading of the contract.

Where creative works meet artificial intelligence

Using works and content in generative systems connects copyright, supplier terms, new licensing agreements and the intended uses of outputs. Each question is examined in light of the intended uses, the text and data mining exceptions and the applicable agreements.

AI law and data protection enter the same analysis when the materials include identifiable people, confidential information or restrictions beyond exploitation rights alone.

Reconstructing rights by following the sources

Reading agreements in relation to each other
The main agreement, schedules, amendments and permissions together define the scope of the available rights. Documentary gaps remain visible, without presuming rights that are not established.
Organise complex collections
For complex sets of documents, the analysis can draw on AI tools developed by the firm and adapted to the case; source traceability and professional review remain central.
